Abstract

This small group of records consists chiefly of oral history transcripts, papers, and newspaper clippings of faculty members (of USC's School of Social Work) and other prominent individuals in the social work/ mental health community. They include files on Genevieve Carter, Lonis Liverman, Linda Poverny, Robert W. Roberts, and about fifty other persons in the social welfare field. The files are arranged alphabetically.

David Hyun papers

Abstract David Hyun, son of Reverend Soon Hyun, was the first ever-Korean American architect and a self-described essayist. He is best known for his 1978 design of the Japanese Village Plaza in downtown Los Angeles, as part of a revitalization of Little Tokyo, and his dedication to documenting his father's work in the Korean Independence movement of 1919. Joseph Roos papers

Abstract

This collection contains papers documenting the activities of Joseph Roos (1905-1999) from his retirement from the Community Relations Committee of the Jewish Federation Council in 1969 until his death in 1999. These papers include correspondence, research files, memoranda and publications. Some documentation of Roos's earlier activities investigating the activities of the German Bund in Los Angeles in the 1930s is also present.

Sonia Shinn Sunoo was a Korean American teacher, researcher, and writer. This small collection consists primarily of Sunoo's oral history interview transcripts with early Korean immigrant picture brides (mail order brides).
